Small granule, big change

As a rule, NonOilen® is produced in the form of granules, the exact parameters of which are determined by the processor. The properties of your product will come not only from the design of the finished product, but also by our material. Its basic parameters are given by our material from which the product is made. This enables the modification of material properties according to the production needs and technological possibilities of the processor.

You don't choose a material, but the features you need.

NonOilen® class I (Industrial)

1

Composition

NonOilen® class I was created by combining the polymers of polylactic acid and polyhydroxybutyrate. Its flexibility is ensured by organic plasticizers, most often derived from citric acid and other additives. Class I means that NonOilen® is degradable in industrial compost.

2

Properties

The properties depend on the customer’s needs. The products can be hard, solid, brittle, flexible, but also highly ductile. Thin-walled products (foils) can also be transparent. We can also supply you with types that have high shape stability up to 120 °C, for example for the production of dishes suitable for washing in industrial dishwashers.

3

Color

The natural color of the products is white or beige. We can prepare granulate, which you can use to produce transparent, or almost clear products. Products made from NonOilen can be printed on with color. You can add a wide palette of dyes directly into the material. However, we do not recommend this. Pigments, even if they do not harm the compost, are not biodegradable.

4

Biodegradability

With NonOilen class I, we guarantee compostability in industrial compost (temperature above 55 °C, humidity above 40 %). Special types of this generation also decompose in home compost (temperature above 25 °C, humidity above 30 %). The breakdown produces no residue or microplastics. Several types of this class can also decompose in the soil.

5

Patent

NonOilen® class I is protected by the international patent application WO2012141660 A1, on the basis of which we obtained national patents in several countries.

6

Studies

We can prove the declared properties of NonOilen with internal studies and test results from external laboratories, in case the customer requests these documents.

7

Technical support

As a NonOilen producer, we can provide our customers with technical support in creating NonOilen recipes with the required properties, or in setting the optimal parameters of individual production technologies. Important information can also be found on our website.

NonOilen® class H (Home)

1

Composition

NonOilen® class H was created on the basis of NonOilen class I. In addition to the basic polylactic acid and polyhydroxybutyrate polymers, its composition includes specially modified thermoplastic starch. Class H means that this NonOilen® class is decomposable in Home compost.

2

Properties

The properties are similar to NonOilen class I, depending on the customer’s needs. The products can be hard, solid, brittle, flexible, but also highly ductile.

3

Color

The natural coloring of the products is white, beige, or even brown, depending on their specific composition. It is not possible to produce clear, completely transparent, thin-walled products from this generation. They are translucent to partially transparent with visible haze. They are printable with color.

4

Biodegradability

With class H, we guarantee significantly faster decomposition in industrial compost than with class I. At the same time, we guarantee compostability for class H also in home composts. Many types of this class also decompose in the soil. The breakdown produces no residue or microplastics.

5

Patent

NonOilen® class H is protected by the international patent application WO2019054951A1. Proceedings to gain national patents in many countries are currently underway. Patents are pending in Canada and Chile.

NonOilen® class A (Agriculture)

1

Composition

NonOilen® class A is currently being developed. The composition reflects the base of classes I and H. The added value of this class is that one component of the raw material is a biological waste material. Even with class A, we will use raw materials exclusively from renewable sources.

2

Properties

NonOilen® class A will be intended primarily for the agricultural sector and industrial packaging (with the exception of food packaging).

3

Composting

Class A will also be compostable.

4

Patent

NonOilen® class A with its properties and technological procedures during processing being fine-tuned. Therefore, we are not publishing detailed information about this granulate yet.

What can be “non-oil”?

We have prepared model examples that show how bioplastics can replace current plastic products. Read more about the system of open and closed markets, or about processing technological procedures suitable for NonOilen®.
